Technology
What Trisonia is built with and how it runs. The building blocks are free software.
Version 0.9.3
Built with
- Elixir – the programming language Trisonia is written in, made for services that run reliably.
- Phoenix – the web framework that serves the pages, feeds and calendars.
- Ash Framework – describes concerts, venues, newsletter and feedback with their rules in one place.
- Oban – schedules the daily collection of concerts and the sending of e-mails.
- PostgreSQL – the database holding concerts and venues; the search runs in it too.
Map and typefaces
- MapLibre GL JS – draws the venue map in the browser.
- Protomaps / PMTiles – the background map is a single file on Trisonia’s server, with no third-party map service.
- OpenStreetMap – map data © OpenStreetMap contributors.
- Bricolage Grotesque – the typeface of the “trisonia” wordmark.
- Schibsted Grotesk – the typeface for headings and text.
Both typefaces are under the SIL Open Font License and come from Trisonia’s own server, not from a font service.
Operation
- Hetzner – Trisonia runs on a server at Hetzner in Germany.
- Caddy – the web server in front; it encrypts every connection with HTTPS.
Every morning Trisonia collects the concerts afresh from the venues’ websites and the platforms.
No trackers
Trisonia uses no trackers and no ads. When you open a page, your browser loads nothing from third-party servers: typefaces, map and scripts come from Trisonia itself. To the privacy policy
